'I view my work as an investigation of selfhood. Recurring themes surface as attempts to reconcile inherent dichotomies of being human: internal vs. external, alone vs. many, anonymity vs. recognition, nature vs. culture. These dualities manifest themselves in a vocabulary of images culled from personal everyday objects and visual conventions from culture-at-large. Within this vocabulary is the capacity for metaphor: a poetic resonance that allows the viewer to bring his or her own associations to the work.
